New Heliopolis compounds & projects

All projects

New Heliopolis lies in eastern Cairo between the Cairo–Ismailia Desert Road to the north and the Cairo–Suez Road to the south. It is bordered by El Shorouk to the west, Badr City to the east and Madinaty to the south, about 15 km from the New Administrative Capital and about 25 km from Cairo International Airport.

Land and ownership

Presidential Decree No. 193 of 1995 allocated the land to Misr El Gedida (Heliopolis) Housing and Development, a state-controlled company. Published figures put the area at roughly 5,400 to 5,885 feddans depending on the source; the company said in 2026 that it manages about 5,500 feddans. In January 2026 it reached a final settlement with the New Urban Communities Authority over about 710,000 m2 of excess land.

Infrastructure

The developer reports a 100 MW transformer station in operation, a 17 km water line from 10th of Ramadan, a sewage treatment plant under construction, nine districts, and about 65% green space. About 212 feddans at the Suez Road entrance are designated for tourism and entertainment.

Development model

The city is being built out through partnerships between the state company and private developers including SODIC, Madinet Masr, G Developments, Rock Developments, MG and Imkan Misr. The CEO stated that around 2,500 feddans have been contracted for development, with about 700 feddans still held by the company.

Getting around

Access is via the two desert roads, with the Regional Ring Road, the Middle Ring Road and the Gamal Abdel Nasser axis nearby. Heliopolis and Nasr City are about 25 minutes by car. Always confirm project details directly with developers.
